Our data is housed in a secure facility,” the statement read.
“Our customers are safe.”
The AstraZeneca spokeswoman told CNNMoney that the company has been in touch with the FBI and the Office of the Inspector General about the incident.
The news comes amid heightened concerns about cybersecurity following the release of the Panama Papers.
In January, President Donald Trump ordered a review of the nation’s cybersecurity capabilities and vowed to “get back to work” after the leak.
